Land Acknowledgement

The National GC Network acknowledges that our offices are located on the traditional territory of the Mississaugas of the Credit, the Anishnabeg, the Chippewa, the Haudenosaunee and the Wendat peoples, which is now home to many diverse First Nations, Inuit and Metis peoples.

NGCN’s members live and work on the traditional territories of many diverse First Nations, Inuit and Métis peoples across this land now known as Canada.

NGCN acknowledges that we are part of a profession whose laws and practices have harmed generations of Indigenous communities and deprived them of their land, culture and rights and we recognize the need to do better.

We fully embrace and respect the 94 Calls To Action of the Truth and Reconciliation Commission of Canada to redress the legacy of residential schools and create a more balanced relationship between Indigenous peoples and settler communities in our country.  We commit to working in good ways, with integrity, kindness and respect.
